Complete Postpartum Hemorrhage Simulator (C-section)

ModelTYE1832.1
Product size(mm)

Outline

This PPH simulator is an ideal solution to provide hands-on and realistic training in prompt treatment and care of postpartum hemorrhage for learners in both professional education and healthcare providers, greatly enhancing the competence and the confidence how to manage postpartum bleeding.

Skills Gained

· Management of postpartum hemorrhage:

Bimanual compression

Hemostatic balloon insertion (Bakri Balloon)

Transvaginal uterine packing with gauze

· Blood loss estimation:

Gravimetric method

Volumetric method

· Delivery of a retained placenta

· Insertion of urinary catheter

Features

· Realism:

1) Realistic simulation of atonic and contracting uterus.

2) Life-like soft texture of detachable abdominal wall, with an approximately 12cm surgical incision in the lower abdomen.

· Anatomy:

1) Lower half-body from xiphoid down to upper thighs.

2) Accurate anatomy, including pubic symphysis, ischial spines, apex of coccyx, sacrum, anterior superior iliac spine, etc.

3) Flexible bilateral hip joints allowing flexion, adduction, abduction, internal rotation and external rotation. The simulator can be positioned in lithotomy position and McRoberts position.

· Key Features:

1) Uterine tone is easily adjustable with the air bulb. An atonic uterus feels soft and enlarged while a contracted uterus feels harder and can tighten to a realistic smaller size after bimanual compression.

2) A 3.5L built-in bleeding tank supports the simulation of postpartum hemorrhage. Blood loss of up to 3 liters can be simulated. Squeeze the air bulb to simulate the intrauterine bleeding with visible outflow at vaginal opening. The gravimetric method and the volumetric method are supported.

3) Hemostasis:

·  Support manual massage of the atonic uterus through the abdominal wall incision.

·  Support insertion of a Bakri balloon through the incision into the uterine, with its distal end passing through the cervix into the vagina. Placement of a Bakri Balloon can stop bleeding. Injecting about 400ml of liquid can achieve hemostasis. When there is no active bleeding from vaginal orifice, the needle on air bulb will stop moving.

·  Transvaginal uterine packing with gauze for hemostasis is supported.

4) Changeable uterine suturing module:

·  An incision in the lower uterine segment, allowing for the suturing and hemostasis.

·  Accurate anatomical structure including bilateral round ligaments, broad ligaments, ascending and descending branches of the uterine artery, utero-ovarian arterial anastomosis branch, uterine artery and its accompanying veins, allowing for the ligation.

·  The uterine wall is marked with indicators for needle entry and exit points and sequence for the B-Lynch suture to facilitate demonstration, supporting the suturing by using real surgical instruments.

5) It comes with an incomplete placenta. The residual piece can be placed in the uterus to simulate retained placenta. It is used to check the completeness of the delivered placenta and to train the removal of a retained placenta.

6) Bladder catheterization. The insertion of a urinary catheter (14F-20F to a depth of 4-6 cm) is possible. No fluid drainage is required.

7) Carrying handle for easy transport. Strap fastenings and anti-skid design secure this simulator to a desktop or bed during training.
